I wake up everyday, like many of the World’s citizens, hoping for a better, more user-friendly world. Each day I pray to God that the leaders of the world will talk to each other and settle the differences between nations peacefully. I hope that some among them will strike the right cords to create the harmony that is so important for replacing the disturbing dissonance that for too long has been the prominent sound heard throughout the world.
When President Obama visited Europe, earlier this year, he spoke in tones that created the perfect harmony for the tunes the other world leaders were singing. Each chord of his message was well placed and all his chords moved in the appropriate progression for each leader’s song.
My heart danced to the sweet up-lifting music President Obama and the other world leaders were composing -- my soul sang along in unison with them. It was clear that these world leaders, led by President Obama, had composed a hit. And the world citizens were not only buying it, the made it the number one best seller, and the learned its lyrics – especially its chorus about “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” which was a remake from an old standard The Declaration 0f Independence (an all-time favorite of mine!)
As it is with many well written love songs, the fans felt that the music was written just for them and the message of the composition spoke to them. They understood it, they enjoyed it, and they have become inspired by it.
Personally, I still wake up every day and pray to God. Except now I am more convinced than ever that my prayers are being answered – especially when I find myself singing the words of an ol’ favorite throughout the day!
