The Teachings of Our Father

The Christmas season is a time of giving. It is also a time of forgiving. It is a time for praying for the blessings we received and forgiveness for the sins we committed. But most importantly it is a time of remembering. We remember family, friends, love ones, and the wonderful memories they brought into our lives. Most importantly, however, we should remember the gifts we received; each representing a gesture of love, kindness, affection from strangers and acquaintances. Each representing the second strongest essence of Christianity ― Love thy neighbor as well as thyself. Loving others and giving to others are two of the fundamental pillars of virtually all the major religions. The single element which separates Christianity from all the other religions is the fact that our God and Savior, who is All Powerful and All Knowing, allowed His Son ―Jesus Christ, who was the Child with the most privileged birthright in the universe, “to give His live” for all of humankind.
Note. Our Christian God and His Son did not shout “No new taxes!” They did not strive to widen the gap between Their stations and the stations of common folks. And more importantly, They did not make draconian cuts to entitlements. In fact, they did quite the contrary: They embraced, supported, and give hope to all of humankind ― especially the sick, the poor, the outcast, the down-trot ten, the sinners. . .
There are many who speak of their Christian faith during this Christmas season. They tell us about their wonderful belief in God, while hoping that we will not notice that their policies, political ideologies, and practices are moving contrary to the wonderful template that Jesus created for all God-Fearing Christians to follow.
True Christianity is more than simply saying the Christian-like things to get elected. True Christianity is behaving, performing, and implementing the types of policies that are in accordance with His teachings!
