Thirty-Two Years of Corporate Tax Cuts
Corporate America,
you got the tax cuts, which resulted in boat loads of profits! So where are the American jobs you claimed the
tax cuts would produce? The citizens of the United States kept their end of the
bargain: They gave you the tax cuts, you claimed, that were badly needed to
create jobs. How come you are not keeping your end of the bargain? How come you
are blaming the state of the economy on President Obama for the promises you
made.
It was you,
Corporate America, who said, “Cut taxes and it will create jobs!” It was you,
Corporate America, who said, “Cutting taxes will save the future for our
children.” The Republican/Tea Party argued your case, bullied the Democrats,
held important economic legislations hostage until you received huge tax cuts. Why
aren’t you keeping your end of the bargain? Where are the jobs that you should
be creating with the enormous profits you made? Your profits are at an all- time
high, yet, you haven’t created the jobs you promised, but instead, you continue
to pay Americans who are currently working sub-standard wages?
It should be apparent
that I am angry, frustrated, and very disappointed with you, Corporate America.
Here is one of the many reasons I feel the way I do: I am going to be 66 years
old in December, 2012; when you started receiving these tax cuts that were
going to create jobs and make the future better for our children, I was 33
years old! My daughter, who was born after you promised to make the future
better for hers and future generations, is enduring a future that is more
hopeless and less promising than the future of my generation. And this is
happening despite the fact that you, Corporate America, are making more money
than any previous time in history!!!
Apparently, our
American Christian, democratic principles do not apply to you, Corporate
America, or to the Republican/Tea Party, who gave you tax cuts, and tax cuts,
and tax cuts . . . and who is planning
to give you a tax cut again, as promised by Mitt Romney!
God,
help us!
